Makaila Nichols
At 29, I’ve turned my story into my purpose. I’m a best-selling author, national speaker, podcast host, TV personality, and the founder of The Blatantly Honest Foundation, where we’re on a mission to break stigmas around bullying, body image, mental health, and more.
My journey started when I shared my story in Blatantly Honest: Normal Teen, Abnormal Life. It wasn’t easy opening up about my experiences with bullying, sexual assault, peer pressure, and self-image—but it was necessary. Since then, I’ve been committed to helping others feel seen, heard, and understood. I also created children’s coloring books, Buddies Don’t Bully and Every Body is Beautiful, which have been donated to thousands of kids across Florida thanks to incredible community support.
Through my podcast, Blatantly Honest with Makaila Nichols, I sit down with celebrities, influencers, and experts for honest, meaningful conversations that inspire change and challenge stigma.
Most days, you’ll find me on the road speaking at schools and events across the country, connecting with students about mental health, bullying prevention, and self-worth. I also work with parents, educators, and organizations to help them better support today’s youth.
When I’m not on stage, I’m on screen—hosting two TV shows on CBS and FOX affiliates—and running my media company.
Everything I do comes back to one goal: helping people feel less alone and more empowered to be unapologetically themselves.
